About Banglatown UK

Stories, culture and the pulse of the Bangladeshi community in the UK

We are a community-led editorial platform amplifying Bangladeshi voices, heritage and everyday life across the United Kingdom.

About

Our Story

Banglatown UK was founded in 2019 as a small blog documenting the lives of British Bangladeshis in Tower Hamlets. What began as neighbourhood storytelling has grown into a trusted national platform serving readers in every corner of the UK.

Today we publish features, interviews and investigations that honour the resilience, creativity and civic spirit of a community shaping modern Britain, from Brick Lane to Birmingham, Manchester to Cardiff.

About

Our Impact

Beyond publishing, Banglatown UK runs free journalism workshops for young British Bangladeshis, partners with mosques and community centres, and campaigns on issues from housing injustice to cultural recognition in schools.

We have helped raise over £40,000 for grassroots causes, mentored dozens of new writers, and become a vital resource for second-generation British Bangladeshis seeking to understand their identity and place in society.
